Advocate.
Dr. Lee maintains a strong orientation toward community advocacy. She has thus far been awarded over $100,000 to implement various projects related to representation, equity, and justice in education. Additionally, Dr. Lee has established several university, school, and community partnerships to create innovative strategies to diversify and strengthen the teacher pipeline. For her efforts, she was awarded the 2021 Cato College of Education Staff Employee of the Year Award in the category of Devotion to Duty. Several of Dr. Lee's recent initiatives are featured below.

2021: Collaborated with university and district partners to host a two-day virtual recruitment event for high school juniors and seniors from across North Carolina. This interactive event offered prospective students new insights regarding becoming and serving as a teacher.

Experiential Preparation for Future Black Teachers

Collaborated with university partner and the California-based community organization Black Teacher Project to sponsor the participation of Black UNC Charlotte pre-service teachers in the 2021 Black Teacher Leadership and Sustainability Institute. Mentored the students as they disseminated their knowledge through peer professional development workshops.
